Oliver Konstantínus Hilmarsson, born in 2000, Iceland, discovered his love for music and audio in 2013 when he started to play the drums and partake in setting up stages and PA systems for school events.

He didnt realize that he was naturally good with sound back then, since he has quite sensitive ears and alot of things were overstimulating, so he had a psycological barrier for the true qualities of sound.

The only times he really applied his hearing was when he was tuning his drum kit, but it took him years of obsession with tuning to realize that the root of his obsession was not with the drums nor his tuning abilities, but with his untrained, over sensitive hearing.

It wasnt untill he got into audio engineering school in 2022 that he realized that he had this crutch and whilst in school he learned to listen, to open his ears and to understand what he was hearing. All of sudden so many things made sense, the life long psycolocical barrier crumbled in just few weeks. And after gratuation, a hearing test came back wqell above the normal line and he started his lifelong career as a audio engineer.

With a degree in music theory, close to two decades behind the drums, great understanding of sound physics, psycacoustic and a powerfull set of ears…Distillery Studios came to be.
